Bulk Waste Pick-Up

Bulk pick-up is provided one Friday a month (find out when yours is on our collection map). From May through August, residents can call 333-4800 or use Dayton Delivers to schedule an additional biweekly bulk pick-up.

Bulk waste pick-ups must be scheduled in advance by phone or the City’s app.  Residents can call between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. to request a pick up and identify the types of materials to be collected. The crew report, listing the types of items to be collected, is finalized at 2 p.m. the day before the scheduled pick-up, so no new items are permitted to be added to the list after that time.

Bulk waste items are to be set out after 3:00 p.m. of the day before the scheduled pick-up.  City crews begin pick-ups at 7 a.m.

Bulk Waste Guidelines:

  • You must separate your metal items (stoves, refrigerators, etc.) from other bulk items. Remember to remove refrigerator doors.
  • All loose and small items must be securely contained, bundled or bagged for easy pickup.
  • Sorry, the City cannot pick up concrete, rocks, brick blocks, sand, gravel, grass clippings or hazardous waste.
  • Yard waste (brush, hedges, tree limbs, etc.) must be tied into bundles not larger than 4 feet long and 18 inches in diameter.
  • Bundles are limited to 25 pounds each.
