The City of Dayton typically has several road construction and repair projects occurring at any given time.  Below are the existing or upcoming road repair/construction projects requiring potential closings and detours during this construction season. Please make a note of these projects as you travel throughout the community.

2012 Bridge Painting
This project consists of painting the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge over Monument Avenue, the State Rt. 4 Bridges over Valley Street, the Needmore Road Bridge and Stanley Avenue Bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, and the Gettysburg Avenue Bridge over Wolf Creek. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2012, with completion in July of 2012.
 

Brown Street Rebuild
This project consists of the reconstruction of Brown Street, from Wyoming Street to Irving Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2012, with completion in November of 2012.

Patterson Road Rebuild
This project consists of the reconstruction Patterson Road, from Wilmington Avenue to Smithville Road. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2012, with completion in October of 2012.

Patterson Road Rebuild
This project consists of the reconstruction Patterson Road, from Second Street to Sixth Street. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2012, with completion in November of 2012.

Signal Upgrade, Phase 9
This project consists of the replacement of 10 traffic signals citywide. Construction is expected to begin in December of 2011, with completion in December of 2012.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program, Nuisance Abatement, Federal Asbestos Survey/Post Abatement Verification Inspections I, Federal NSP2 Funds
This project consists of the  determination and documentation of locations of asbestos-containing materials in  approximately 60 residential structures citywide. The project is expected to begin in October of 2011, with completion in December of 2012.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program, Nuisance Abatement - Federal Asbestos Abatement, Federal NSP2 Funds
This project consists of the removal of asbestos-containing materials in approximately 30 residential structures citywide. Construction is expected to begin in October of 2011, with completion in December of 2012.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program, Nuisance Abatement, Federal NSP2 Funds
This project consists of the demolition of approximately 40 residential structures citywide. Construction is expected to begin in October of 2011, with completion in January of 2013.

     

 

James H. McGee Boulevard Rehabilitation Phase II
This project consists of pavement rehabilitation on James H. McGee Boulevard from Brooklyn Avenue to Gettysburg Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in October of 2011, with completion in April of 2012.

Great Miami Boulevard Realignment
This project consists of roadway construction and realignment and extension of Great Miami Boulevard from Main Street to Riverview Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in July of 2011, with completion in November of 2012.

U.S. 35 Underpass Lighting
This project consists of the installation of lighting on U.S. 35 underpasses from Edwin C. Moses Boulevard to Wayne Avenue. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2012, with completion in August of 2012.

Fifth Street Bridge Lighting
This project consists of the installation of underside lighting for the Fifth Street Bridge over the Great Miami River. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2012, with completion in August of 2012.

Safe Routes to School Project
This project consists of the installation of walkability enhancements in Fairview Park for the new Fairview School. Construction is expected to begin in April of 2013, with completion in July of 2013.
