Major Larry Faulkner

Major Larry Faulkner followed in his father’s footsteps when he graduated from the Dayton Police Academy in February of 1981. After working a variety of patrol assignments, he was promoted to Sergeant in 1991. He served as a Patrol Supervisor in a variety of policing districts.
In November of 2008, Faulkner was was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, assigned as Commander in the Central Business District.
In 2004, Major Faulkner earned the Department's Distinguished Service Award for assisting with an emergency search for residents inside a burning apartment building. In 2008, he received the Joseph T. Cline Award for his work in the Property and Evidence Unit. In 2010, he led a team of police and citizens who became finalists for the international Goldstein Problem Oriented Policing Award, sponsored by the National Center for Problem Oriented Policing
Major Faulkner earned his Bachelor's of Science degree from Park University in Criminal Justice, received a Master's of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati in Criminal Justice, and is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College.
