Citizen Participation
The Division of Citizen Participation provides support to citizens, neighborhood associations,
Priority Boards
, (the official citizen participation structure in Dayton) and community institutions to promote the development of shared visions and create a higher quality of life in Dayton. We provide technical assistance with traffic device petitions, liquor permit objections, city service requests, training, and project management. Through the
Dayton Mediation Center
we allow people to interact constructively while addressing their conflicts. Annually, the
Neighborhood Leadership Institute
engages specially selected citizens in a dynamic learning process in a 12 week period to better equip them as leaders in the community. The Division participates in regional and national forums including the Regional Neighborhood Network Conference, the National Association for Community Mediation, and Neighborhoods, USA.
