Please be aware that the entire country is in the process of transitioning free over-the-air television broadcasting from an “analog” format to an “all-digital” format. Stations in all U.S. markets are currently broadcasting in both analog and digital. Analog TVs are commonly recognized by using “rabbit ears” or other antennae that do not require paid service with a cable company, such as Time Warner.
By law, February 17, 2009 is the last day for full-power television stations to broadcast in analog, and they will broadcast only in digital after that date. However, there are ways to adapt existing analog television sets to accommodate the change-over without needing to contract with a cable company.
