2010 Strategic Plan

City Commission Adopts Strategic Priorities Through 2010

In 2005, the Dayton City Commission has developed a set of priorities to guide the community through 2010.

The City Commission created a document called FOCUS: 2010. This document outlines the strategic priorities that will help guide the decision-making and resource allocation practices of the organization for the five-year period between 2005 and 2010.

In addition, these near-term strategies tie into the City’s larger comprehensive plan called "CitiPlan Dayton: The 20/20 Vision," which leads to the year 2020. The strategies developed in the FOCUS: 2010 document complement the overarching themes set forth in the "20/20 Vision":

Economic Development
Neighborhood & Community Development
Public Safety
Downtown Vitality
Quality City Services
Regional Partnerships
Youth, Education & Human Services
Open Spaces & Quality of Life
Infrastructure Maintenance & Investment (i.e., roads, bridges, public facilities, etc.)

"The priority items we developed reflect the vision the City Commission has for enhancing the financial, social, economic and quality of life conditions of the community through 2010," Mayor McLin said on behalf of City Commissioners Dean Lovelace, Joey Williams, Matt Joseph and Nan Whaley. "The goal is to build upon various economic, neighborhood and downtown improvement efforts to create a city that appeals to diverse audiences."
