The City of Dayton seeks out and employs leading communications and information technology solutions across the organization. Our use of technology is to better serve the community including city residents, businesses, visitors, and other external jurisdictions and agencies.

The Division of Information & Technology Services (ITS) is chartered to oversee the processes of how communications and information technology is recommended, selected, implemented, and supported for the organization. We directly serve the majority of internal city agencies as well as external business partners, other jurisdictions, and outside agencies. We serve the public indirectly via various technologies deployed and managed on behalf of the agencies we support.

ITS designs and manages the core communications (voice and data) and informational infrastructure of the City using a shared and centralized architecture. One-off or specialty technologies needed are also handled case-by-case based upon individual agency requirements.

The City strives for prudent use of technology that lends itself to operational efficiencies, improved levels of service, and continued control over costs of doing business. Our environment is diverse across agencies where many kinds of technology solutions are needed.
