City Manager Tim Riordan is responsible for managing the overall operations of the organization's 16 departments and approximately 2,000 employees.
Dayton City government proudly provides a full range of services, including police, fire, EMS, street maintenance, waste collection, building inspection, water supply & treatment, sewer maintenance, wastewater treatment, recreation, municipal courts, airport and convention center. The City provides about 140 line services and 75 support services for approximately 141,000 citizens in an incorporated area of about 57 square miles. The City Manager's Office also works closely with other local and state agencies and the state legislature through Legislative Initiatives to protect and promote the interests of the City of Dayton.
Tim was appointed City Manager in October of 2009, following 40 years of local government experience, including 30 years in Dayton. He has served as Acting City Manager in both Dayton and Cincinnati and was previously Dayton's Director of Management and Budget.
