City Manager Tim Riordan is responsible for managing the overall operations of the organization's 16 departments and approximately 2,000 employees.
Dayton City government proudly provides a full range of services, including police, fire, EMS, street maintenance, waste collection, building inspection, water supply & treatment, sewer maintenance, wastewater treatment, recreation, municipal courts, airport facility, and convention center. The City provides about 144 line services and 75 support services for approximately 141,643 citizens in an incorporated area of about 57 square miles. The City Manager's Office also works closely with other local and state agencies and the state legislature through Legislative Initiatives to protect and promote the interests of the City of Dayton.
