Support Services & Resource Management

Fighting fires is a vital city service, and just as important is ensuring fires don't start in the first place. The Division of Support Services & Resource Management works proactively to eliminate fire hazards and safety concerns in the community. It also ensures the essential tools and resources of firefighting are ready when an emergency occurs.

Community Services

Headed by our Fire Marshall, the Community Services branch of the division works with partners within the City government and clients in neighborhood and business communities to promote and maintain safe, responsible practices. Our fire professionals investigate fire incidents, enforce Dayton's fire code, and review building plans and construction.

Support Services

The City self-manages its fire facilities and emergency and non-emergency fleet. It also maintains and repairs small motors, tools and other emergency equipment and provides vehicle repair services to 28 other jurisdictions in a garage facility located in north Dayton.
